In our opinion early training and family socialization is primary key to having a good quality pet.
It's very important for us to be sure our pups are around our children and played with often before leaving our home. We have found that placing a puppy in one's home as early as 8 weeks old can be very beneficial to the new family and the children living in the household. The bonding time, training and household schedule is very important for a young puppy to become acquainted with and grow with.

"After losing our yellow lab of 13 years last summer we debated as to whether we wanted to go through the joys and sadness of having and losing another life long companion. Browsing the internet one day I came across Vicary Labradors and noticed a litter was due in September. After contacting Vicary Labradors we decided to add our name to the waiting list and as luck would have I picked up our new yellow female, Daisy in November. We have owned six labradors over a period of some 45 years, so we have some experience with the breed and lab breeders. From the day we put our name on the waiting list until the day we picked up Daisy, Vicary Labradors provided us the best experience we have ever had with a breeder. Keeping us informed, answering questions, scheduling appointments, sending pictures of the pups as we awaited our turn to pick our puppy, information on feeding, shots and vets, nothing was left to chance. Mrs. Vicary obviously loves what she is doing and it shows up in every detail of how she cares for her customers and her pups. Our new Daisy is everything we had hoped for and we highly recommend Vicary Larbradors to any one interested in a labrador."

Vicary family, Thank you very much for our wonderful puppy Colt. He is now around 16 wks old and is growing quickly! This dog and your establishment is top notch. His temperament is amazing and its obvious the love and attention he got as a pup. At 9 wks Colt was already sitting, staying, heeling, and retrieving on command! He has not been in the woods or water yet but that will be soon to come! We have a large family and this dog is a wonderful family dog, he lets you love on him, hold him, even ride him for the littlest one!
Thanks,
~Chad and Carrie and Kids!

Vicary Labradors have been a pleasure to work with. The process to get on the waiting list was a breeze and Vicary Labradors did a wonderful job of keeping us informed about when the puppies were to be born. During delivery, we got updates on delivery times, gender, and color. Since the pups have been born, Vicary Labradors sends us pictures weekly and informs us of their development, both physical appearances and personality traits. We were invited to see the pups around 3-4 weeks old and we were invited back whenever we wanted until it was time to take our puppy home. Overall, it has been a terrific experience for our entire family.

After going through the joy of having our Yellow Lab as part of our family for 14 years, his loss left us with a huge void in our lives. After several months, we began a search for another Lab. Local ads just didn't produce what we were looking for so we went to the internet to search for Labrador Breeders in Indiana. Vicary Labradors appeared on several searches so we decided to check out their web site. We found it to be very informative and interesting. We were drawn to their philosophy and knowledge. We contacted Vicary Labradors and were put on the waiting list for their next litter. During the wait we were updated on not only our place on the list, but also on the progress of Hazel. After the pups were born, we were sent pictures weekly along with little bits of info on each pup. At 3 1/2 weeks We were scheduled a visit for us to meet our new puppy. It was obvious once we met the Vicary family that they put a lot of time and love into producing quality pups. Our next visit was to pick up our puppy at 7 weeks. We were given information on the vet exam, shots, worming and food. We could not have asked for a better experience. We were so impressed that we ended up bringing home two of the puppies. Jake, a yellow male and his litter mate, Sam, a black male. Both puppies impressed our vet as being happy, healthy high quality Lab Puppies. We want to thank the Vicary family for producing such nice puppies and also for allowing us to experience twice the joy with the two pups.

As you can tell by the pictures, we absolutely love Sammy. He does not lack for attention. His last visit and shots with the vet are this Thursday. When I weighed him Monday, He was 33 pounds. He is very social and loves people and other dogs. He has had a lot of play dates with other dogs in the neighborhood and up at my parent's cottage in Leland, Michigan. We are headed North to Leland the first 2 weeks of August. Sammy loves Leland. We walk every morning, play on the beach, walk through the woods and play with another retriever. He is doing well on potty training. Down to very few accidents. He still loves to chew, but has only gotten a few shoes. He has had one puppy kindergarten class and will begin again the third week in August. Everyone comments on how beautiful he is. We are very thankful for Sammy. We'd be honored to be on your reference page. Feel free to use one of the recent Sammy picures. I hope to see updated pictures of Sammy's brothers and sisters. Thanks again for everything!

We really enjoyed the experience of purchasing Sid from you. It was so great that I was able to explain what personality and temperament we wanted in a puppy and you came through. He fits into our family perfectly. We were amazed that you cared enough to send us pictures and updates the first eight weeks of his life. We plan on getting him a girlfriend to play with, so we would like to be put on the waiting list again. We will keep sending you updates. Thanks.

Harley has been such a joy to us. I knew that we were in for a good experience with Vicary Labradors the first time I spoke to you. You and your family have wonderful dogs and all of you provide such a loving environment for them. Hannah and Hazel are sweet, healthy and beautiful. Harley is really starting to look like Hannah. He is my little sweetie pie. He is so smart and loving. Our daughter has taught him how to sit, speak, and shake. He is getting to know how to "stay" pretty well too. He loves going for walks and going for car rides. He does very well on the leash too. He stays right by our side! Our vet is just amazed by him. He said that he is one of the most solid & beautiful yellow labs he has ever seen. He said that Harley came from an excellent line of superior Labradors. Of course, we totally agree with him!! Harley loves to lay in the kitchen while dinner (or any meal for that matter) is being made. He still loves his mackerel!! Thank you so much for Harley!! We will be forever grateful to you and your family!!

Macy is an awesome lab. She has learned so much since the day we picked her up from the Vicary's. She sits, stays, shakes and speaks, as well as retrieves frisbees on command. Although, sometimes she'll outsmart us and take off with the frisbee and not bring it back! She is getting so big compared to the pictures first taken of all the pups. When she's full grown, she will probably be a 70 lb. lap dog! Macy's favorite thing to do is go on walks down by the pond or go for car rides while sticking her head out the window. We were just married in August, and Macy has been a wonderful addition to our little family. As a matter of fact, Macy made the picture that was hung at the wedding for everyone to sign! Thank you so much for our blessing.

After having two children, my husband and I decided the time was right to add a lab to our family. We started looking at breeders and visited several. We came across Vicary's web site and after meeting with Robin and her family and meeting the dogs, we were sold! Boomer astonished us with how quickly he picked up his commands. After 2 weeks at home, he would "heel", "sit," "stay" - and wait for his food until we said, "o.k." - and my 7 year old daughter even taught him to "shake". I taught him to "hug" and he would lay his head on my shoulder! Of course, I can't do that anymore as he already weighs over 55 pounds at just 6 months! Boomer is great with our 5 and 7 year old children - they adore him and the feeling is mutual! Robin's love for labs is obvious! She is so well informed and stayed in touch with me throughout the entire process. I simply can't say enough about Vicary Labradors and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a quality labrador.

We absolutely LOVE Cooper! He ran right to us the day we came to look at the pups and we just had to have him. It has been nothing but love and fun ever since. Cooper is definitely a part of our family and we couldn't imagine our days without him. He is most likely full grown now (at 78 lbs) and he will have his second birthday on November 18th. He enjoyed the doggy friendly birthday cake I got him last year so we'll have to get him another one. Robin and her family were very helpful during the entire process of purchasing the puppy and even helpful when providing information about breeding him. Cooper loves to swim in his kiddie pool during the summer, chase leaves in the fall, and run through snow piles in the winter. He brings joy to us every day. I can't believe he will be 2 years old next month! Thanks for everything and glad to see you are still breeding and completing others' families with more lab puppies!

When we began our search for the ultimate family pet we went to many Labrador websites. However, Once we visted your website , read the Research, References, and Information, we knew we had found where to get our newest family member. It had to be Vicary Labradors. The quality and the entire process was an amazing experience. Truly professional from start to finish. We love Buddy, he has truly become a member of the family and like us, seems to love the outdoors, the wild animals, and the attention that we always try to show him. He is Kind, Strong, Intelligent, and quick to show that even at 7 Months, he is still a puppy who loves to play. At 5 months he had already mastered simple commands, such as Stay, Sit, Give me five, and Come. Now at 7 Months and 70 Pounds, he still knows those commands, but now listens for Whispers, Whistles, and even my grunts. He will search out things that I hide from his line of sight, just by smell, and brings it back directly to me almost intuitively knowing what I expect. In short, he is brilliant and charming, just as a family member. When he stares and focuses on something, it is difficult to break him out of the concentration. His proud Labrador stance is awesome. You have chosen the best when you have chosen Vicary Labradors. We have seen other Labradors from other breeders, but they always seemed distant and Obscure. Buddy is everyones Buddy, and at the same time will protect my family to the end. This is the ultimate family member we have searched for all these years. We have Vicary Labradors to Thank for this Great opportunity.

We had such a great experience with the Vicary's and we can't thank them enough for our healthy, beautiful yellow lab, Gracie. She was born in November of 2008 and from the time she was born until the time we picked her up in January 2009, the Vicary's sent pictures of our puppy and kept us updated about her personality and how she was doing. Gracie has been a special part of our family and we love watching her grow and go through the different stages of life. We enjoy doing life together! Gracie is around 95 lbs and she is very smart when we ask her for a certain toy she can go get that toy and bring it back. Gracie can do so many tricks . She is also a great guard dog I never thought of that but she is. She has went swimming every day from June until the end of August for aleast 1 hour a day. She looks alot like Samson, her dad, tall and alot of muscles. Gracie is doing good with her food, we give her Innova. She has been very healthy. Thank you Vicarys!

We've had Zeke for nearly two years now (he turned 2 on Nov. 18th). He has been a wonderful dog from the very beginning. He is great with our three kids ages 1 - 9 when we got him. Even as a puppy he was very gentle with them. He is smart and loving and was very easy to train. We look forward to having him as a part of our family for years to come.

Thor, is a great dog. If you want an alpha dog he's the one!! He has fit well into our family. The last vet check he weighed in at a big wop-pin 62 pounds. He reminds us so much of the dog Marley, from the movie. He is into everything, if he wants something he will use his nose an sniff it out. He doesn't like cat's, he pounces on our cat every time he gets a chance. He is gentle, an loving towards our boys and has learned some obedience, even has learned how to climb the fence, or chew through bungee cords. We enjoy him every moment of the day. He loves taking car rides, but hates getting baths, or being brushed. He is like a big slobber box when he drinks his water, because he drools all over the place. I believe at the rate he is growing he will be bigger than his father, by looking at pictures of his dad. Well that's a little a bit about "Thor". We love him an couldn't ask for a better lab.

"It was a blessing when we discovered the Vicary Labradors website! I was searching for yellow lab breeders and stumbled upon their website. When I first saw their web page and everything Robin had put into it, I could immediately tell that this family loved and took great pride into finding families for their babies! I was impressed with all the information and pictures they had. We were "lucky #13" on the waiting list. I figured that we didn't have a chance, but Robin reassured me to stay on the list in case someone dropped out for some reason. When the puppies were born, we had moved up to #7! We were estatic!! We picked Ozzie, because we thought he was the most "laid back." Boy, were we wrong! He, like the others, gets into everything, wants to eat everything, chew everything, etc. I wouldn't change a thing! Ozzie is around 75+ lbs., and a big ball of energy. I know that his mother, Hannah, was nicknamed "Trainwreck" because that's how she comes at you. Ozzie's the same, but we've nicknamed him "Beastie Boy!" He is a big ol beast and a lover boy! The whole experience with Robin and her family was wonderful! Robin was very good at emailing us everything that was going on with the puppies and we appreciated all the photos that she took. We didn't feel like we were missing out on Ozzie's first few months. We're hoping to get another puppy in the spring of 2010 (just have to convince the hubby!) Thank you Vicary family for an awesome addition to our Family!!!

From the moment we first contacted Vicary Labradors, to the day we picked up our pup and continuing on until this very day we have had nothing but positive experiences with Robin. It is so evident that Robin cares for her dames and treats them like family. Hazel and Hannah are given the best food and tons of love and when the puppies come they are every bit as exceptional as their parents are. Robin led us through the whole process - from seeing Hazel, to knowing when she was in heat, sending pictures of the sire and regular updates during her pregnancy. She contacted us with pictures of the pups two days after they were born, with weekly picture updates until we could pick him up. In doing so, she made us feel as if we were part of her family as well. Our pup - green collar boy aka Dominic, gets compliments daily on his focus, coat, body build and general personality. He loves other dogs, has the whitest teeth I have ever seen and has trained very well. When we see him run he is a stunning site to behold. I see many traits in Dominic that I saw in Hazel when we met her. It's wonderful to know where a dog comes from and how their mother has been treated - with love and respect. I feel the love that has been given to Hazel and Hannah is passed right down to each little pup that comes from Vicary Labs; and the persona of Robin caring for each little pup is evidence that she loves each and every one. We were long on the list when we joined with Vicary Labs and we set our sites on maybe not getting a pup, but as things change and people change we moved up from 13 to number two on the list. We were overjoyed to get the pup of our dreams - but also knew if we didnt get a pup from this littler, that the next litter would be worth the weight as well. We will definitely come back to Vicary Labs for our next puppy.
~Wanda and Troy chose Dominic from Hazel's litter.
